Switchgear Solutions: Maintenance, Assessments & Lifespan Optimization

Agilix Solutions | Switchgear Maintenance & Testing

Electrical systems power nearly every critical operation within a facility, making switchgear maintenance and testing essential to long-term reliability and performance. Routine switchgear maintenance helps identify potential issues early, reduce unplanned downtime, and extend the lifespan of critical power distribution equipment. While well-maintained electrical switchgear systems can remain operational for 30 years or more, neglected equipment often experiences premature failure and increased safety risks.

At the same time, ongoing supply chain challenges continue to impact the availability of replacement switchgear components, with lead times for critical equipment ranging from weeks to years. These delays make proactive switchgear assessments, maintenance planning, and lifecycle management more important than ever.

Agilix Solutions works with trusted manufacturer partners to provide switchgear maintenance services, switchgear testing, and equipment evaluations designed to help organizations extend the life of existing distribution switchgear systems. Whether through preventative maintenance, identifying at-risk components, or exploring switchgear retrofit options, our goal is to help you maximize equipment lifespan, improve reliability, and delay costly full-system replacements when appropriate.

How We Can Help

In addition to a Switchgear Assessment, Agilix Solutions can connect you with a variety of services from our manufacturer partners designed to help you prevent emergencies and ensure your facility is ready when a failure does occur.

  • Thermography Services – Thermography assessments reveal abnormal heat patterns caused by poorly functioning components in switchgear and power distribution systems. Agilix Solutions resources perform thermography assessments with Level 1 certification from the Snell Group’s 34-hour course. The course follows guidelines set by the American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) SNT-TC-1A (2006). Each has also completed an NFPA70E Electrical Safety and Arc Flash Compliance course.
  • Critical Spares Inventory – In a time like this, when all the equipment you’d need to get back up and running is already on backorder, you can’t afford to wait until you need a product to order it. Agilix Solutions can work with you to identify the most at-risk components in your critical power system and ensure you have ample critical spare inventory to minimize downtime and cost in the event of a failure.
  • Arc Flash Studies and Mitigation – We work with our partners to facilitate arc flash studies that expose hazards, create a game plan for reducing the risk of arc flash incidents, and help you develop a plan to remain compliant with workplace safety regulations.
  • Breaker Retrofitting – The supply chain challenges we’re facing have contributed to breaker retrofits becoming a popular option among customers. Retrofits replace only at-risk switchgear sections, keeping existing conduit and cabling intact.
