Hubbell Expands EdgeConnect Offering to Receptacles, Switches, Plugs, & Connectors

Hubbell Wiring Device-Kellems has dramatically revolutionized the electrical installation industry with a complete fleet of innovative products. We’ve introduced you to their EdgeConnectTM straight blade devices and their Twist-Lock® Edge Series receptables, plugs, and inlets. Today, we’re going to explore new products in the EdgeConnect family and illuminate how they’re going above and beyond to help electrical installers get more done faster.

Hubbell EdgeConnect

What Makes EdgeConnectTM Products Different?

Screw termination has long been the standard in electrical installation. In a standard screw termination, wires are each wrapped around a screw and then torqued down with a screwdriver or torque wrench. With EdgeConnect devices, that manual work is no longer necessary. You insert a wire into a hole and flip a plunger with your fingers to activate a built-in spring that securely clamps the wire with exactly the amount of tension needed for each specific device and wire.

Better yet, EdgeConnect device terminations are adaptive, minimizing the need for rework. As time goes on, terminations typically degrade, especially in high vibration environments. EdgeConnect device termination performance actually improves over time because the device adapts as the profile of the wire changes.

Hubbell EdgeConnect Receptacles

EdgeConnect technology improves installation time by up to 80%, making these solutions the fastest termination products in the market. The new EdgeConnect receptacles bring this game-changing technology to the forefront for use with sensitive electronic equipment.

Sensitive electronic equipment is often in high demand, so downtime needs to be minimized. Saving time on installation can be critical. With Hubbell’s EdgeConnect screwless technology, you’ll experience the fastest termination possible. Color-coded plungers guard against potential confusion and further speed up installation. Strong engineered springs keep wires tight and the unique, patented design continues applying pressure as wire strands relax over time for a consistent, reliable connection. However, if rewiring is required, it can be undone easily.

Orange Twist-Lock isolated ground receptables are available in both 3- and 4-wire versions.

Electricians can now wire 15A or 20A faster and more securely using EdgeConnect screwless technology from Hubbell Wiring Device-Kellems. Hubbell’s EdgeConnect screwless technology adds new productivity and safety gains to the high-performance receptacles contractors and installers already trust. There are no exposed metal terminals. Color-coded plungers eliminate confusion and speed up installation time.

125V Toggle or decorator-style models are available in 15A and 20A configurations, single pole and three-way. The design fits standard depth boxes in factories, hospitals, office buildings, schools, and anywhere else reliable power delivery is needed.

Hubbell EdgeConnect Plugs and Connectors

It’s finally here! By popular demand, installers can now terminate 15A and 20A cord-mounted plugs and connectors faster and more securely with the new EdgeConnect™ series.

EdgeConnect straight blade and Twist-Lock® plugs and connectors support a wide variety of hospital, entertainment, and commercial/industrial OEM and MRO applications. They are available in 15A and 20A configurations with all-black and bulk packaged offerings.

These devices also include a newly designed cord clamp that accommodates the widest range of cord diameters and fully closes to provide excellent strain relief for terminations.
